PGE Group is the largest energy group in Poland, generating approximately 40% of the country’s electricity and 20% of district heating. Its electricity distribution area covers about 40% of the country's territory. PGE Group's parent company is PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA
PGE Group operates across the entire value chain, producing electricity and heat in both conventional and renewable power stations and combined heat-and-power assets, then supplying and selling these to customers across Poland, including households, businesses, institutions and local government units. In 2020, PGE Group also began the process of integrating its combustion by-product management activities. The use of combustion by-products allows PGE to reduce consumption of natural resources, limits its impact on the environment and reduce CO2 emissions. This is PGE Group’s way of reducing waste in the energy sector, in line with the circular economy concept, focusing on climate protection.
